Hi everyone, hope you’re all well. Today’s post is just going to be a quick one.
So, a while ago The Fabric Guys contacted me and asked if I was interested in doing a collab with them. This maxi skirt tutorial is my first project with them. When I first knew that they had Indonesian Batiks, I thought, me being Indonesian, it had to be the fabric for my first project.
I was inspired by a maxi skirt from Anthropologie from a while back. This skirt has got pleats on the sides and flat in the centre (front and back). I went with in-seam pocket anchored at the top to the waistband/facing so that they don’t wander to the back of the skirt – my pet peeve when it comes to in-seam pockets.
I enjoyed working on this project immensely. I decided to play around with creating a garment from scratch – from sketching out the idea on paper to the final hemming of the garment – instead of relying an a ready-made pattern. I felt like I was really flexing my creativity muscle. 😀
This link will take you directly to the full tutorial post on their Sewcial Network blog. Hope to see you there.
