Kalle Shirtdress – Closet Case Patterns | Pattern Review

Kalle shirtdress Closet Case Patterns pattern review by The Fair Stitch.

You know, I was thinking the other day whether or not it is worth it for me to write a review of this pattern. I mean, who's not made it, right? It seems to me like everyone and their mother have made multiples of this pattern. And now that I've made both versions - the … Continue reading Kalle Shirtdress – Closet Case Patterns | Pattern Review

Bonjour!

It's Monday morning, I was up 2 hours early this morning and I have a new post on my blog... I don't know who I am anymore 😂 This is my #m7948 dress - my first ever McCall's pattern! Yes, I shamelessly copied @raystitch sample 😜 I didn't make a lot of changes to the pattern other than swapping the button and thread loop in the back with invisible zipper, and shortening the skirt and bodice. Love the fact that the bodice has no darts, perfect for cords. Full review on this pattern and fabric can be found on my blog, just follow the link in my bio ☝️ Pattern: McCall's M7948 Fabric : 8 wale cotton stretch corduroy from @raystitch #thefairstitchsews #raystitch #simplicitypatterns #sewinglove #sewistsofinstagram #isewmyownclothes #memade #makersgonnamake #sewist #instasewing #handmadewardrobe #memadeeveryday #sewingblogger #diyootd #mccallspatterns #seamstress #dressmaker #liverpoolsews
Is it Christmas yet? 🎄 For once, I'm not sewing last minute Christmas dress 😂 and of course, no memade outfit is complete without Joy's famous memade necklace, right? 😉 Full post on this dress and pattern will be live on the blog soon. Happy Sunday, lovelies ❤ #thefairstitchsews #sewinglove #handmadewardrobe #memade #isewmyownclothes #sewistsofinstagram #dressmaker #seamstress #sewingblogger #makersgonnamake #sewist #instasewing #diyootd #liverpoolsews #simplicitybyme #mccallspatterns #m7948
Yaaay my first post for @fabricguysonline is finally live. It's a tutorial on how I made this maxi pleated skirt with Indonesian batik. Being Indonesian, I'm may be biased, but boy oh boy do I love this fabric! It cuts and sews like a dream 😍 Swipe for sketches on how I mapped out my pleats and "drafted" my roomy pockets. Head over to their Sewcial Network for the full post. 😀 #thefairstitchsews #sewcialnetwork #thefabricguysonline #memade #handmadewardrobe #sewinglove #sewistsofinstagram #isewmyownclothes #fabricaddict #seamstress #dressmaker #sewingblogger #makersgonnamake #sewist #instasewing
⭐ COLOURS ⭐ I have been really obsessed with these colours lately, from my makes and my paintings, to the stuff I bought, they're basically these hues; yellow (mustard), teal, and red (and coral). I'm not really into statement earrings, I don't know if I'll ever wear them, but those colours just make me happy. The yellow mustard linen is my beloved Pietra pants. Anyways, #HappyHuesday everyone. Have a colourful day 🌈 #colours #colourfultuesday #liveincolours
I do love planning my sewing projects in my sketchbook. I've tried Keep, Trello, Evernote and a bunch others, but digital note-taking/planning just doesn't work for me. To each their own, eh? 😁 Have a wonderful Monday, peeps ❤ #sewingproject #sketchbook #sewistsofinstagram #sewinglove #isewmyownclothes #sewingblogger #handmadewardrobe #memade
It may be cold outside, but I made another #gemmatank and I want to share it 😋 On the blog today I share a tutorial on how I swapped the bias finish for an all-in-one facing and used the burrito method for a neckline without opening. This is my favourite method and I love it more than bias finish. I think facing makes the garment look more... luxurious? Head over to the blog if you'd like to learn more about this technique, just beware this post is quite picture-heavy.
